A Collin County man is facing capital murder charges after allegedly shooting his pregnant girlfriend, claiming the incident was accidental.
The Collin County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call just before 9:00 a.m. on March 17, 2025, from a man reporting that he had accidentally shot his girlfriend at a home on North State Highway 78 in Blue Ridge.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 23-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the chest inside the residence. Despite the efforts of emergency personnel, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooter, identified as 35-year-old Carl Stanley Chrisenberry, was taken into custody at the scene. Authorities also recovered a firearm outside the home as evidence.
The victim was later identified as 23-year-old Hannah Blanchard, who, according to social media reports, was a mother to a 4-year-old child.
Since Blanchard was pregnant at the time of her death, Chrisenberry has been charged with Capital Murder of Multiple Persons.
Chrisenberry was booked into the Collin County Detention Facility on March 17, 2025. His bond has been set at $1,500,000.00.
Law enforcement officials confirm that the investigation remains ongoing, and additional details have yet to be released.
