About the Harvard Academy Scholars Program
The Harvard University Scholarship 2026–2027 is a fully funded postdoctoral opportunity for international students. Offered by the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies, this program supports exceptional scholars in the early stages of their careers whose work demonstrates excellence in the social sciences or law, particularly when integrated with in-depth knowledge of countries or regions outside the U.S. or Canada.
Each year, four to six Academy Scholars are selected for two-year appointments. Scholars are expected to be in residence in the Cambridge/Boston area during their fellowship, except when conducting approved research travel.

Eligibility Criteria

Academic Requirements:

Must hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree (earned within two years of the August 1, 2026 start date)

Advanced doctoral candidates (PhD students) in the social sciences or law may also apply, provided they can submit official degree conferral documentation by June 30, 2026

Applicants who have previously held a Harvard postdoctoral fellowship are not eligible
